For High School Tennis, since there are no line judges, can a coach be called over to watch? Is a coach allowed to officiate in this type of situation?
My understanding is it depends on various State Rules. In Michigan where I live, I have seen both coaches come and watch the court t it gets bad enough. That way the players and parents will not freak out the only one coach is there. I think he key is to keep things calm and civil vs what i usually see which is anger and hysteria.
What do you do if your opponent is cheating and there is no lines judge available?
That is one of the tough situations with our sport., Every other sport has officials taking care of that sort of problem. The only solution is to continue playing and ask for a line judge again, but you probably will not get one. I know of some parents filmed the match to prove how bad it was. You need to be careful when doing this because the other player or parent may freak out and there may be some rules against filming other kids.. There are no great solutions to the situation you are describing
